Here're some of the reactions of Teachers, Students, and Parents who have seen the fruits of using our Languages Come Alive series.(We have 23 on file.)

Handwritten from a parent

"Mr. Dunphy- Thank you... Gabrielle...has enjoyed her Latin class so much. She talks about it at home and has even tried to teach us! And it was always a lot of fun... Kerry Fulton"

This comes from the head mistress of Montessori School of Columbia. This is the school in Rosewood where our Languages Come Alive story begins.

"March 14, 2006

"While teaching Latin to our upper elementary-aged students, Finnbarr Dunphy has created an outstanding teaching text for elementary and middle school students...

"The format integrates lessons in vocabulary, grammar, translation, etymology, culture, and history into an on-going story...

"This is a one-of-a-kind Latin course which both challenges and entertains. The story itself motivates students to learn Latin at a more advanced level than normally expected for young beginning students. Students, parents, and teachers praise its success.

"Sincerely yours,

Barbara Richstad"

From the Latin instructor at St. Michael's School in Myrtle Beach, Sarah Kelly

Salve, Finnbarr,

The Latin students love Patricius and Hilda! The boys, especially, get so  excited about the gladiator fights they can't even stay in their seats. I make them translate out loud as I'm reading, and they're so anxious for me to get on with the story that their translating has become instantaneous! Sarah" (early 2007)

"Gratias tibi ago, Finnbarr, for working with the AOH on our behalf. Now that I’ve been through Patricius and Hilda once, I’m more anxious than ever to introduce it to a new class next year. Sarah" ( end of year 2007)

"Salve, Finnbarr, The package of books came today, and I LOVE the new format!  The books look fabulous. 4th-grade Latin is my first class next week, and I can hardly wait to get them started. Sarah" (2008)

Here are a couple of comments about the English to Spanish story-text. It's in its second year of use.

"Finnbarr,

I have heard how wonderful (your) Spanish is.  My son wishes the third graders were taking it too.  Hopefully next year. Debbie McLean "

"Dear Mr. Dunphy:
I am glad you received our email.  ...Terrific that you are teaching the Spanish... We are glad to hear that the Spanish version of your program has also been a success.
Thank you for inspiring Sophia with Latin ... I am glad that she was exposed to the language and your method of teaching. Lisa Foppa"
